The Whistler Adventure School currently accepts around 100-125 students per year.
WAS has accepted over 1500 students since opening in 2014 (as of January 2024)
WAS has over 25 countries represented by our students. The students originate from regions all over the world. WAS strives to have a global reach and our students reflect this. From Switzerland to Australia, to Mexico and native Canadians, you can be assured you will be immersed in global culture.
The average student at WAS beats to their own drum. The typical student enrolled in our programs love the outdoors, mountains and an active life style with an inner desire to share this through their art and love of technology.
Whistler’s reputation as the world’s best bike park as well as home to some of the best skiing and snowboarding lends itself to people who are active, driven and enthusiastic about pursuing their dreams. WAS enables these endeavors by offering courses that bring the classroom to the world.
History
WAS opened in 2014 to give students the opportunity to develop real-world skills in the spectacular Whistler valley. With the wealth of opportunities that abound in the area, the possibilities are endless. With the picture-perfect granite rock of Squamish for climbing, to the powder snow of Whistler Blackcomb, to biking in Pemberton, the Sea-to-Sky corridor is an adventure seekers dream.
For those looking to build a career in Marketing, Media, Retail, Manufacturing or Guiding, WAS provides opportunities for all. With a state-of-the-art Mac lab to hone media production skills, a full fledge ski/snowboarding and bike shop to take your dream ski/snowboard design or bike maintenance to reality or the surrounding of mountains to test your guiding ability, WAS will help you become the person you wish to be.
Our class structure is designed to allow you to live, work and play in the Whistler area to allow you take in all that Whistler has to offer.
Faculty
Our faculty is made up of industry professionals who are passionate about their respective disciplines. All faculty are constantly redefining what it means to be a professional through their careers. WAS instructors have logged countless hours in their respective fields and bring that wealth of knowledge to the classroom.
Our classes feature a small, student-friendly faculty-student ratio. Our Marketing and Business courses are 15:1, and our lab/guide courses feature an even more intimate ratio of 6 to 8:1.

Whistler Adventure School provides a quality education experience within the Whistler community granting access to career building opportunities that enable students to develop knowledge and skills necessary to achieve their professional goals, increase productivity in organizations and become leaders in community service to the Whistler community. WAS strives to recruit, educate and inspire students by utilizing faculty who are at the leading edge of their fields.
