The Professional Mechanic Course is a comprehensive 10-day course which combines the first three steps of the Cytech training process – Theory 1, Technical 1, and Technical 2.These steps are best taken together, and are the foundation for any mechanic looking to work in the industry and confidently take on any repairs. Understand the theory and technical applications to ensure high quality repairs every time.

Basic understanding of bicycles and terminology.

- Derailleur Gear Systems, including selection, installation and maintenance
- Bearings, including Hubs, Headsets
- Rim brake systems (cable operated)
- Introduction to disc brakes and hydraulic bleeding
- Wheel truing and spoke replacement
- Wheel building
- Suspension Theory and Maintenance
- Develop your professional bike mechanic skills and gain the experience needed for working in bike shops. Understand the theory and practical applications of service procedures to ensure accurate results when servicing a wide range of bicycle makes and models.
- Students who graduate will receive Cytech Theory 1, Technical 1 and Technical 2 certifications.
- Graduates are eligible to book space during Open Shop Days to continue developing their skills.
