Through Whistler Adventure School I had the opportunity to build my own Snowboard - handmade of course. The course is build up really interesting; from how to start an own Ski / Snowboard factory through the building process till the finished product - your self made Ski / Snowboard. That course gave me the chance to see how a Snowboard is build. Every single step. Because of that, you see how much work and experience is in every Board which is handmade. The highlight of the building process is the moment your Snowboard comes out of the press and of course the finished Board. Being able to do this course and be able to ride your own Snowboard is something great. In a Nutshell, if your looking for a course to learn more about this sport and what it involves etc. That’s for sure the right course for you!!!Kevin Cajochen - Switzerland

I started the media and marketing program at WAS in fall 2015. I've worked in marketing in the UK but the opportunity to get hands on experience in photography, videography and event planning to name a few of the modules I took at the school have been priceless. My WAS experience was so great I decided to continue with a further program - retail and manufacturing. Making a pair of skis was way out of my comfort zone but definitely an experience! For anyone considering studying in Canada, WAS is a perfect option - the winters in Whistler are amazing and the summers even better!Sally Ellam - Great Britain

Traveling to the other side of globe, far away from everyone and everything I know is the start of an adventure. Whistler offers limitless possibilities for your outdoor life and getting to know new people and cultures. The school is a great place to meet a lot of cool people. For me, as a photo/videographer, the courses aimed on the camera world were the most important and best at the same time. The teacher Phil Tifo is a real pro and great person. His passion in what he is doing with many years of experience are inspiring to pursue your own achievements.Ivan Belko - Slovakia

I have been enjoying Whistler for almost six months now! I have never heard about Whistler to be honest, but as I saw the images of the mountains, the lakes and blue skies being played on the screen in the Whistler Adventure School stand back home, I said to myself “I want to be there” . Once I was here it just got better, because I found out that whistler was one of the best skiing resorts in the world, I’ve never skied in my life, but for sure, now is one of the things I love the most. School is flexible, I am really enjoying the marketing program, while I snowboard and work, as well. I am so satisfied I am here and all this is happening, new experiences, new stories and the Whistler Adventure school was the door for all this to happened.Hector Garcia - Mexico

WAS has students attend from all parts of the world. The course schedule was flexible which suited my outdoor Whistler lifestyle. On another note, I found all of the teachers friendly, very skilled and approachable. I had lived in Whistler 3 years before I started my studies at WAS. I love Whistler due to its proximity to mountains and outdoor activities. It reminds me a lot of where I grew up. Low and High Tatras (mountain area) in Slovak Republic. People here are very relaxed and friendly. It is fairly easy to find a work placement for CO-OP or any job in general.Martina Gejdosova - Slovakia

I fell in love with backcountry skiing a couple of years ago and the WAS Ski Guide Training program was a great choice to explore it even more! The guides at the course are just awesome! With many years of experience from all around the world, always friendly and helpful with everything! It's really cool to learn new things from somebody like that. And share it with your classmates! We have an awesome girls gang and we really go out there together during the whole season. And at last but not least - the playground here, the stunning and beautiful mountains in Sea to Sky area, that is something I will never forget. So if you wanna become a ski guide or if you are just passionate about mountains, skiing/snowboarding, backcountry and you want to feel safer and have more fun with the science, this course is a perfect match.Marie Malkrabova - Czech Republic

Marketing & Media Manager Program
I've been in Whistler for a winter season when I heard about WAS at an information stand and the variety of courses that they are offering. I was specifically interested in the ski and alpine guide program because I wanted to gain experience in ski touring and mountaineering. At the same time with enrolling in these courses I could extend my stay in beautiful Whistler. The instructors for these courses at WAS have been ski and mountain guides for many years so the students can learn and take along a lot from their experience! It's great that the classes are small which makes it easier for the instructors in demonstrating new skills etc. The course, especially the field days, were exactly how I pictured it. We had a lot of great day tours in the backcountry with different snow and weather conditions to learn from. In the breaks between the different levels of the course the students met up to go touring and practice the skills that we learned on the mountain. So if you thinking about a career as an ACMG guide the courses at WAS are a very good first step towards this goal.Vanessa Hocke - Germany

Whistler Adventure School gave me the opportunity to experience living in a huge Ski-Resort while studying in workshops in the evenings. As a freelancing film maker, I was working a lot developing myself. I am enjoying my time in the student accommodation which is nice and quiet. After coming back to Whistler in September 2016, I earned a scholarship for a film production program at the Vancouver Film School in December 2016. I can say that WAS gave me warm support to reach my goal while staying in Canada. Thank you Whistler Adventure School.Eric Frankhauser - Switzerland

The bike guide program at Whistler Adventure School was a fun, educational, and a balanced experience that set me up to achieve my goals. I was fulled prepared to step into a guiding role at Arbutus Routes, and can't express enough the ease of transition from school to work. The seamless transition was wholly due to the comprehensive courses orchestrated by WAS.Dani Huff - USA Bike Guide Training Program
