Derek Rhodes

After ten seasons working at other Tuning Shops in Whistler Derek realized that the focus had shifted to rental fleet maintenance, good quality tuning for customers was no longer a priority.  Derek felt that Whistler needed a Shop to preserve the real “Ski Shop feel” and to cater to customers that desire consistently well tuned equipment.

In the fall of 2003 Derek purchased a Montana stone grinder and a tuning bench. The first three seasons he personally tuned every pair of skis in the shop. Since 2003 Derek has grown his successful business and upgraded all the machines in his shop. This wealth of experience is why Derek was picked to teach our ski tuning courses; not only can he repair, mount and tune almost every imaginable set up, he has the knowledge to run the business as well.
