WAS Newsletter 06 2025
Looking for an unforgettable winter adventure in Canada? Did you know we offer short-term, hands-on courses designed for thrill-seekers who want to build real backcountry skills and don’t want to worry about applying for a study permit to enter Canada. Today we are featuring our Intro to Backcountry Ski & Snowboard Skills program that runs from December to January and includes two immersive courses: Intro to Backcountry and Outdoor Survival Skills. You’ll learn how to navigate avalanche terrain, master essential safety techniques, and gain the confidence to explore Whistler’s legendary winter landscapes. This is the perfect opportunity to experience Whistler’s outdoor lifestyle while earning professional training you can take anywhere in the world.
Also happening this month: an exclusive sneak-peek into the 2025 Crankworx Whistler Festival. Catherine Planta, Crankworx Manager of CEI Operations & Partnerships, is hosting a special presentation just for WAS students and alumni. She’ll be sharing insider details about this world-class event and how it all comes together behind the scenes. Crankworx is one of the most exciting mountain bike festivals on the planet, and every year our Event Planning students gain hands-on experience working at the event.
