Real World Experience

On Mountain Labs

The Whistler Adventure School prides itself on training students in some of the most challenging terrain in the world, the coast mountains surrounding the Sea to Sky. Students benefit from a hands-on experience, unparalleled in North America. Our instructors safely educate, train, and inspire students to become the people they wish to be. Students in guide courses learn the skills necessary to become successful guides.

Convenient Classrooms

After a full day in the mountains skiing and shooting footage, students continue their education in our state-of-the-art Function Junction classrooms. WAS has a fully equipped media and production lab on site.

Whistler Labs

Students in the Photography and Filmmaking courses are tasked with shooting footage in and around the village, on the mountain and at numerous Whistler venues. The events and activities on the Whistler calendar give opportunities to capture unique images. Under the guidance of our media instructors, students capture amazing moments and build their portfolio.

Learning Facilities

Production Lab

The WAS faculty works with our partners to develop the best curriculum available to give students the most current knowledge available. Our production lab features equipment from Montana and Conformable. The bike mechanic equipment from Park tools offers the best hands-on training available in British Columbia.

Classrooms

WAS has the ideal classroom environment located within our facility that allows students to work hands on with the best resources available. Classroom time is used as a compliment to solidify learning, understanding of equipment, theory, and course material.

Media Lab

WAS uses Apple Mac computers featuring the latest software including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Premier Pro, Motion, and many more. These programs are used to enhance students learning through hands on instruction. Our teachers pass on their knowledge, giving WAS students an unique advantage when entering the industry. Students have access to this lab 5 days a week to enhance their skills and produce content for their portfolio.
