Today we are meeting Phil Tifo. Phi is an accomplished photographer and videographer who shares his knowledge in these courses. His first published photo in Transworld Snowboarding Magazine launched his business into all continents. You can find his photos in more than 20 publications worldwide. He has worked with some of the best athletes and manufacturers in the action sports industry.

In the Heart of Crankworx
Bridgette is completing her last course in the Marketing Media Manager Diploma program. She chose to use her new skills learned in at WAS to work at the Crankworx Bike Festival working with the broadcast production team. What a great way to do your co-op hours! The Crankworx World Tour is a multi-stop series of mountain bike festivals, bringing together the best mountain bike athletes to compete in elite-level environment. This is just one of the many events that are produced here in Whistler.
“Doing an internship with the broadcast production team has been an amazing experience! From assisting in the finish coral with athlete interviews, spotting for cameras and listening to the live broadcast from the TV truck for the Canadian DH, being front row of every live event and watching the planning and logistics to bring the broadcast to the screen with BoomBox Group working alongside the guys from Redbull TV has been incredible. Every day was different but always fast paced, exciting and something new. 5 live broadcasts over 7 days. Watching how replays are done on EVS and the engineering team, all of the camera guys, chaperoning world class athletes to interviews to make content, it’s been unreal to see how many people and steps it takes to make a broadcast.”

Crankworx + Class = Pure Vibes
We snuck out of class to watch and evaluate the Crankworx Event, The Ultimate Pump Track Challenge, Pro Finals – LIVE BROADCAST!
It was a great time and very informative to actually see events from a planning point of view including safety, structure, activity line-up, capturing video and more.
